April’s GlossyBox Review

Hello there, my lovely readers!

I hope you are having an amazing weekend, wherever you are.

Today I want to talk about ‘The GlossyBox’!
It is a monthly subscription: you can choose to buy one box every month for £10 or you can opt for a 3,6 or 12 months subscription. With the box you get 5 different makeup or skincare products delivered directly to your door every month, isn’t that great? I love trying new products and discovering new gems!

The first product in the box is the Karl Lagerfeld + Modelco ‘Baked Blush’ in the shade light beige and it is the full size product (3.5g). This shade is way too light to be used as a blush so I used as a highlight. It looked good as soon as I put it on my face, however after a few hours the only thing that was left on my face was glitter which I didn’t really like.

The second product is the Vitamasques ‘Manuka Honey Sheet Mask’.
It is a Korean face mask with extract of Manuka honey which is meant to moisturise and nourish your skin and it retails for £3.99. The mask is very wet and full of product and you are meant to leave it on for 20 minutes, which I did. It had a very weird smell which I found quite unpleasant and to be honest I didn’t really notice any difference after I took the mask off, it just left my skin feeling quite sticky so I didn’t like that either.

We then have the Affect Cosmetics ‘Matt effect transparent loose rice powder’.
Wow, that was quite a long name! This retails for £9.35 and it is full size, 10g.
The powder is a combination of maca and rice starch that is meant to absorb oil and give a matte finish. I really like the packaging because it has round plastic, transparent top that you can twist to open or close the small holes to release or stop the powder, therefore you can take it anywhere with you without making a mess. I also really liked the powder itself as it made my under eyes feel very smooth and  it didn’t crease during the day.

The fourth product is the Eyeko London ‘FAT Liquid Eyeliner’. This retails for £16 and you get 3.5g of product. I really, really liked this product! It is very easy to apply, it dries quite quickly and the line is very black and matte and it does not smudge which is great. I have nothing bad to say about this product!

The fifth and last product of the box is the Modellauncher ‘Safari Bronzer’ which retails for £20 and you get 10g of product. Let me get this straight…. I did not like this product. This is not a matte bronzer as it has got some glitter in it which is not a big deal.
The problem is the design of the product which I didn’t understand. It has got those darker parts which are very pigmented and they look very dark on the skin.
I also tried to swirl my brush on the surface of the product to see if all the colours would blend into a nice mixture but unfortunately that did not work.

So the two products that stood up from this month’s box, for me, are the Eyeko eyeliner and the Affect Cosmetics Rice powder.

All the products together (apart from the baked blush, because I couldn’t find it’s price anywhere), are £49.34 which is crazy considered that the box costed me only £10 + £3.25 shipping!
You also get to keep the box that is very resistant, cute and pink which are always a plus for me!

This is all for today, ladies and gentlemen!

As always thank you for reading and I will see you veeeeery soon!

With love,
